Training
P. I. E. Corp is dedicated to the training of psychologists. We provide supervised training of practicum, preintern, postdoctoral, and early career psychologists. Additional training opportunities include didactics, group consultation, and research.
Our Training Model
Located on the waters of the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Tacoma, Washington, P. I. E. Corp is a private practice known for high-quality, innovative, and evidence-based civil forensic assessments. Our professional identity emphasizes relevancy-focused and streamlined forensic assessment. Our work is social justice oriented, with referrals often involving victims of complex trauma and intersectionally-disadvantaged identities as they navigate the legal system.

Our training model is open to predoctoral practicum students. We have established relationships with many local programs, yet also remain open to other students, as well. During their year, practicum students can expect to produce multiple comprehensive shadow civil forensic reports. Our model also offers monthly didactics, weekly group supervision and trainings, extensive training in conducting psychodiagnostic assessments, and advanced trauma case conceptualization. We have multiple supervisors to ensure a wide variety of evaluations and assessment styles, and an incredible administrative team to help support our training program.

We have three supervisors, including two former DCTs for local programs, which helps us specialize in training students during the year they go out for the APPIC match. Former practicum students have gone on to secure internship and/or postdoctoral fellowship opportunities at:
- Utah State Hospital - Richard J. Donovan Correctional Center
- Harvard Medical School – Massachusetts Mental Health Center - Stanford Medicine Mood and Anxiety Disorder Clinic
- Northeastern Florida State Hospital - Southwest Behavioral Health

We also maintain a postdoctoral fellowship that offers an NIH-matched salary and full benefits. Fellows will produce independent-level forensic civil reports, with additional training opportunities (e.g., other referral questions, research opportunities, etc.) based upon fellow workload, progress, and interest. Please see our UPPD Directory Listing for full information about our fellowship position.
